Bill by Margaret V. Doran
Bill
Margaret V.Doran
Who, him?
Pshaw! He just does not get it
and what's more, he's so conceited he probably never will.
Oh, he thinks he knows his own mind and I suppose he may . .
from moment to moment, at least,
and he thinks he has his finger on the pulse of the nation.
He thinks he knows which way the wind blows.
He just doesn't get it.
Being blown this way and that by every breeze
from every windbag
is not knowing the mind of the wind
and telling everyone what he wants to hear
is not knowing your own mind:
it displays a serious lack of any mind.
Nope, he just doesn't get it:
that in his greedy quest for fame and power
he got what he asked for
but with it came Responsibility
and people who want Honesty and Integrity,
not lies and dimples.
He just does not get it!
