Bundle of Joy
Margaret V.Doran
When Christopher John was born,
our beautiful baby boy,
Amy pouted all day long -
she wanted to name him Roy.
He had black hair, but not too much,
it looked like he needed a shave;
Amy smiled the second day,
but wanted to name him Dave.
Christopher John had dimples
in his cheeks and in his chin;
Amy giggled when she saw them
and asked could we name him Lynn.
His eyes were dark, not blue or brown,
and sparkled in the light
and Amy finally decided
that Christopher John was right.
Mom was glad he was here at last
and his name was settled now,
‘cause before he was born she often complained
that she felt as big as a cow.
Dad just laughed, but we had to agree,
so he’d soften it with a kiss,
'cause before twelve pound C. J. was born,
Mom was just Too Big To Miss!
