Creation
Margaret V.Doran
As a wheel moving ever forwards;
spinning ever backwards
creating an image out of illusion
giving feeling and emotion
with simple words
heaped upon each other
grabbing and then letting go
allowing imagination
to create a new existence
Hovering carefully between
reality and fantasy
illuminating the dark spaces
of the mind
in a never-ending kaleidoscope
pulling life, however doomed,
from death, inexorably spinning
forward without end,
an exaggerated cycle of our days
Word pictures carefully woven
to reveal just enough
but leaving open spaces
for the imagination to fill.
As intricate and delicate
as a spider web and
as carefully planned and executed
to complete its own purpose,
a poem touches infinity
