Cry of the Caged Wolf
Margaret V.Doran
The wolf in his pen
has only one companion
he calls his invitation
seeking his pack
raising his nose to the wind
crying for his own community
his own acceptance
in a howl of expectation
in a howl of greeting
that goes unanswered
And every morning
and every evening
it is the same
The wolf, deep in his spirit
does not give up his pursuit
to be complete
