A Dream Held High
Margaret V.Doran
In times like these I remember
how much I love you
wracked with pain
writhing
nothing I can fix
and still,
your mind wrestles
with all the “stuff” you should be doing
obligations to others
things that need your attention
deadlines
promises to keep
They will all still be there
tomorrow
or the next day
just more urgent
And if you are unable
I will fill your shoes
as well as I am capable
I will keep your promises
and uphold your dreams
until you are better
can re-assume responsibility
Until then,
I will not let your plans die
I will hold them up for you
to comfort you and give you hope
so you will not be overwhelmed.
Be strong, uphold one another to the Glory of God
