Egocentricity

             I have decided that poetry
             is very selfish
             I express myself, my thoughts,
             my emotions, it is all
             I . . . I . . . I . . . I . . . I am
             and somehow I expect
             you to have a part of
             what I write
             and who I am
             and how I feel

             How totally egocentric!
             But without being the center
             of the concentric ripples
             there is no meaning
