I Am
Margaret V.Doran
humility is a bitter pill to swallow
when all your known world is watching
to see it done
but perhaps this unraveling
of the public self
the undoing of what was
is the only medicine
worth ingesting
if it can free the soul in captivity
to follow its own proclivity
down a path of uncertain destiny
where joy awaits along the journey
and in the end
the freed spirit can exalt to the wind
I AM!
