My friend you are an inspiration true
You work so hard and manage without aid
And my respect for you is but your due
Through every day you rise to strength anew
Can it be that you are NOT afraid?
My friend you are an inspiration true
You have the courage granted just a few
And have accepted tho' you've overpaid
And my respect for you is but your due
You took each trial and with it you grew
Your inner beauty gleams like polished jade
My friend you are an inspiration true
Responsibility weighs heavy, too
Yet through it all you've stood and you have stayed
And my respect for you is but your due
Could I but give some joy I would to you
To help you through the times when nerves are frayed
My friend you are an inspiration true
And my respect for you is but your due
