Myself
Margaret V.Doran
(A portrait by my son, Garrett, when he was five.)
She has been blessed
by God
with a joyful heart
usually
and more patience than some
She tries to learn from her mistakes
and not repeat them
She is not easily offended
nor easily intimidated
and has Inner Strength
Honed from adversity.
She loves children unconditionally
tho’ she doesn’t like them all
and for whatever reason,
animals like her
And she would give her patience and peace
to those who need it, if she could,
but it can’t be done
and she has learned, over the years,
not to cry over what can’t be changed.
