Whole
Margaret V.Doran
I do not want to meet the demons
that lurk just outside my memory
I must escape them
My child, trust in Me
it is time for you to know
all of who you are
But I am afraid of what I will find
you have nothing to fear
for I am here to hold you up
and I have carefully surrounded you
with those who love you
and will love you still
But life is already too painful
adding knowledge of more hurt and rejection
will be too much to endure
you are the culmination of
all you have experienced
knowing these things will not
change who you are
you are strong and beautiful
you are loved for yourself
and nothing that has come before
will alter that
I will be changed if I know these things
you will not be changed,
for all that came before is past
it has no power to harm you;
to make you something other than what you are
I have not the courage by myself
Trust and know that love lives
it is the well of courage and
you have it in abundance
in due time, by My will and My hand only,
it shall be accomplished
that you will be made whole
in the light of all truth
